The following people teach quilting classes at this shop:
Ruth van Haeff
Ruth is a very familiar figure to the quilting world of the
Southern Highlands. I would imagine that Ruth has at one stage
or another taught nearly all of us quilters here in the area.
Ruth has a vast amount of knowledge and her soft and gentle
manner attracts a very loyal following. Ruth will stretch your
imagination and your skills as a competent quilter or she will
nurture your beginner’s skills to create your own heirloom.
Ruth also works in the shop and not only is she an expert in
her field she is also a dear friend. Ruth teaches every
Wednesday, Friday and the 1st and 4th Saturdays of the month.
Please phone for times and costs.
Karen Cunningham
Karen is one of the foremost teachers in the country today, and the difficulty that girls have in finding a place in her classes are a testimony to that fact. Karen specialises in quilts with a vintage air, often with soft colours and delicate appliqué reminiscent of the old English quilts. Her colour sense is flawless and as that is an area many of us have difficulties with, her innate sense of style is a godsend. Karen is with us one weekend a month, please phone for dates and costs.
Vickie
Porter
We are very blessed to have Vickie teaching
embroidery this year. If you love to embroider then this is
the class for you. Lots of embroidery used in different ways,
from quilts to bags to cushions and more. Put your embroidery
together with the beautiful fabrics available in store and use
the items to decorate your home or as very special gifts to
the very lucky! This class suits all levels from novice to
“old hand". Vickie also runs a Country Stitchers. If you like
making pincushions, needle cases, cushions and the like then
this is the class for you. Vickie will help you with all
aspects of your project including fabric choice, and threads
and stitch choice so you will not get left behind.
